At Warton Nethersole’s CofE Primary School, we are incredibly fortunate to have our own family support worker, Mrs Shigdar.
Mrs Shigdar works with children and families to help overcome any barriers to learning at home or at school. She leads on work with our families with an Early Help plan and liaises with external agencies as required. Mrs Shigdar writes a weekly recommendation for mental health, relaxation and wellbeing in our newsletter, please look under the News tab to access these ideas or use the links below to access other, external support options. Mrs Shigdar currently works in school on a Monday and Friday and can be contacted via the school office or at maggie.shigdar@heartwoodmat.co.uk.
A message from Mrs Shigdar
“Hello, I am Warton Nethersole’s Family Support Worker. My role is to help and support both children and parents of the school. I work in small groups, on a one-to-one basis or can refer for more targeted support, if that is needed. I have helped families with relationship breakdowns and emotional well-being, the settling of new siblings into the family, friendship circles, lack of concentration within the classroom and much more. I enjoy working at the school as no two days are the same!”
