As Chair of the Local Academy Board (governors) I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Warton Nethersole’s CE Primary School.
Here staff, children, parents and members of the Local Academy Board work together in a happy, creative and high attaining environment with our Christian values of love, trust, forgiveness, respect, thankfulness and community underpinning everything that we do.
We are proud of the children in our school which was graded Good at our last Ofsted inspection and Outstanding in our last SIAMs inspection. During the early years of primary education, academic, personal, social, behavioural and creative skills are nurtured and developed. Visitors often comment on the impeccable behaviour displayed by our pupils. Here at Warton, we aim for all our pupils to achieve high standards across the curriculum whilst having access to an enriched education which includes competitive sports, Forest school activities, after school clubs, opportunities to attend a residential week and other extra-curricular activities as they arise. We are supported in these areas by BDMAT and The Nethersole Trust. Our links with the local Church of Holy Trinity, Warton are also important to us.
I always think of our school as an extended family. Many of our pupils have parents, grandparents and even great grandparents who attended Warton Nethersole’s in their time; a wonderful sense of continuity. Most of our pupils transition happily to The Polesworth School, again, where many of their parents and grandparents attended.
Governors are appointed to ensure that objectives are met, and that future planning is both visionary and realistic. We provide strategic direction for the improvement of the school and monitor and evaluate its effectiveness. In the way of being a ‘critical friend’ we hold the school to account for the standards achieved and the quality of education. We are here to support and encourage our Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and all school personnel to ensure that every one of our children has access to an enriched education and to all the opportunities that they deserve. Safe guarding and wellbeing are important to us. We also want all our staff, in whatever capacity, to have a very good life/work balance.
Parents are an important and supportive part of our school and there will be opportunities for you to be involved. Please take a look at the rest of the website and also access some of the recent newsletters. These will give you a flavour of what has been happening over the recent weeks. If you would like further information please make contact through the school office. I can also be contacted through the same office.

Sincerely yours,
Linda A Buckingham (Chair LAB)
