I am Joanne Dormand and I have worked at Warton Nethersole’s C of E Primary since 2007 and I have been Sendco since 2009. At Warton, we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive school for all children. We strive to ensure that all children including those identified to having a special educational need access to a broad and balanced curriculum and are fully included in all aspects of school life including sporting events.
All children are planned and catered for within our curriculum and as Sendco, I help to support staff when needed with the planning for specific needs. We work closely with our parents and outside agencies when needed to help to support the children during their time at Warton. All children with SEND have IEPs (Individual Education Plans) with personalised targets, which are written with the teacher in consultation with parents and the child themselves. These are then reviewed termly. Another way that children are supported is through our range of interventions that we offer across our school.
