Values Day – Love – Monday 8th March 2021

On the first day of each term we celebrate, learn about and reflect on one of our Christian values. This term, our Values day was postponed due to lockdown and so it took place on the first day back for all of our pupils. Each class had a different theme linked to this term’s value of love and within it expressed themselves through art, drama, discussion and debate. We are delighted with their insight, generosity and maturity as we learnt together. Click here to see more about the theme and skills progression for each class.

In our Acorn Nursery, our children (aged 2+) learnt a sensory story version of The Good Samaritan and thought about how they can show love to their families. “Love is Patient. Love is Kind. Love never Fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4&8

In Rowan Class, Year 5, our children reflected on diversity and acceptance- loving everyone and embracing our differences. “My Command is this- love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12

In Beech Class, Years 2 and 3, our children thought about the environment and how to show love to our world by working together to take better care of it . “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1

In Oak Class, Year 6, our children shared the importance of showing themselves love and respect. They thought about how they needed to love themselves before they could love others around them. ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ Luke 10:27
